With Professional Engineering on staff, FDS provides complete electrical design services to compliment A&E offerings. Electrical designs are typically for utility, industrial, and commercial projects - though FDS has done high end residential packages as well. Both drawings and CSI MasterFormat 50 division specifications are prepared to meet project needs.

Protection

We design protection and coordination for low and medium voltage in commercial, industrial, and utility applications.

Medium Voltage

FDS provides distribution and industrial level medium voltage design, analysis, and maintenance services.

System Design

We offer Professional Engineering services for power system design and modifications - including coordination and load flow analysis.

Arc Flash Risk Assessments

Electrical system risk assessments, including shock and arc flash hazards, are required by OSHA - typically per NFPA 70E requirements. This is one part of an effective electrical safety program. FDS has performed arc flash risk assessments for industrial, commercial, and utility customers including:

On site data collection
Creating as-found single line diagrams
Modeling of systems in SKM or EasyPower
Performing analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E requirements
Providing a report in accordance with IEEE 1584.1 guidelines

Safety ProgramS

FDS can review, audit, or prepare Electrical Safety Programs in compliance with NFPA 70E requirements. Elements include Risk Assessment, Job Planning, Principles, Procedures and Controls. We can work with your safety staff to tailor a program that integrates into your existing EHS system.
